I think personally that its just more women that seem interested, i am talking about spiritualism as i i cant really speak for any other religions although to me and this is just my observation, there seems to be more men in things like Christianity, Jehovahs Witnesses, and Mormons. Dont know why that is.
the spirit and destiny magazine your quite right it does appear to be aimed at women more than the other ones. why do they put a woman model covered in makeup on the front cover, or is that meant to be for the men?
[/quote] From what I've read men tend to be more interested in 'religion' and women more interested in 'spirituality'. They like authority, boundries, Bible studies and debates. Women lean more towards spiritual experiences, prayer and heart-to-heart conversations.
The JWs and Mormons, along with Islam; are very highly organised religions with a clear set of beliefs and list of right and wrongs. All three are percieved by some people as sexist and bar women from leadership roles.
With Christianity it depends very much on the denomination and strand, but historically Christianity has always had more followers, even when a church movement has been patriachial and masculine in character.
Catholicism, the Church of England and all liberal/mainline churches are largely attended by females. The numbers balance out better with the evangelical churches; especially ones like the Southern Baptists in America. The more Holy Spirit centred evangelical churches (Pentecostal and charismatic) tend to attract more women; probably because it is more based on emotions and experience.
