Sapphire

The magnificent and holy Sapphire, in all its celestial hues, is a stone of wisdom and royalty, of prophecy and Divine favor. It is forever associated with sacred things and considered the gem of gems, a jewel steeped in the history and lore of nearly every religion. To the ancient and medieval world, Sapphire of heavenly blue signified the height of celestial hope and faith, and was believed to bring protection, good fortune and spiritual insight. It was a symbol of power and strength, but also of kindness and wise judgment.

In Hebrew lore, King Solomon and Abraham both wore talismans of Sapphire, and the Law given to Moses on the Mount was said to be engraved on tablets of Sapphire. The Greeks wore it for wisdom at Delphi when seeking answers from the Oracle at Apollo’s Shrine. Buddhists believed it brought devotion and spiritual enlightenment, and the Hindus considered Sapphire as one of the “great gems” used in offerings in the temples for worship and to align astrological influences. In Christianity it was used in ecclesiastical rings, and was cherished by kings and nobility for its powers of protection and insight.

As a talisman, Sapphire was thought to preserve chastity, discover fraud and treachery, protect its wearer from poison, plague, fever and skin diseases, and had great power in resisting black magic and ill-wishing. It healed ailments of the eyes, increased concentration, and would lose luster if worn by an intemperate or impious person.

Today Sapphire is still a Stone of Wisdom, a royal stone of learning, mental acuity and psychic activation, a seeker after spiritual truth. Its pure Blue Ray brings order and healing to the mind, lending strength and focus, and an ability to see beneath surface appearances to underlying truths and to utilize that knowledge. It stimulates the Throat and Third Eye Chakras, allowing one to access deeper levels of consciousness in order to gain a fuller understanding of self. Associated with the planet Saturn, Blue Sapphire embraces order, structure, and self-discipline, and is ideal for accomplishing goals and manifesting ideas into form. Sapphire’s power to transmute negative thoughts and energy also makes it highly effective for earth and chakra healing.

Sapphire is a variety of Corundum, an aluminum oxide mineral that forms in prismatic tabular, bipyramidal or rhombohedral crystals, as well as granular or massive habits, and may be transparent to opaque. Blue is considered Sapphire’s “true” color and the one most often recognized, though Sapphire does form in a diversity of colors (listed below), and will have the color added to its name (for example: Green Sapphire, Yellow Sapphire). Additional mineral compounds forming with aluminum oxide are responsible for the different coloration, and in the case of Blue Sapphire, iron and titanium provide its heavenly hues. With the exception of Red Corundum, which is Ruby, all other colors of Corundum are Sapphires.

Blue Sapphire ranges in hue from pale to deep azure or dark royal blue, to indigo, with the most highly desired color being the velvety cornflower blue, also called Kashmir or bleu de roi. The name Sapphire is derived from the Latin sapphirus, Greek sappheiros, and Sanskrit sanipryam, meaning “blue stone.” Recent research indicates what we know today as Lapis Lazuli was also referred to as Sapphire in the ancient world, and much of the Sapphire described in the Bible and other texts would have actually been Lapis Lazuli.

For metaphysical purposes, this page will discuss the overall properties of Sapphire and attributes specific to Blue Sapphire.

  • Black Sapphire brings the wisdom of confidence in one’s own intuition. It is protective and grounding, relieves anxiety and sorrow, and is a talisman for seeking and maintaining employment.
  • Green Sapphire brings the wisdom of fidelity and integrity. It encourages compassion for others, stimulates vision, and improves dream recall.
  • Orange or Padparadsha Sapphire brings the wisdom of loving creation from the heart to the world. It unites one’s creativity, sensuality and spirituality, and is a talisman of artists, writers and singers.
  • Pink Sapphire brings the wisdom of resilience. It stimulates emotions and encourages love, forgiveness, and release of the past. It honors acceptance and strength of heart.
  • Violet Sapphire brings the wisdom of spiritual awakening. It stimulates meditation, opens the Crown Chakra and allows the kundalini to rise unimpeded. It initiates oneness and peace.
  • White Sapphire brings wisdom and strength of spirit, providing the inner resolve needed in overcoming difficult obstacles to one’s spiritual path. It brings clarity to the mind, and communication with higher guidance.
  • Yellow Sapphire brings wisdom and prosperity. It not only assists in bringing financial abundance, but stimulates the inner will through the solar plexus to creatively focus and manifest one’s goals and ambitions.

Star Sapphires are created when Corundum is intergrown with fibrous inclusions of Rutile, “silk,” that reflects light in stones cut en cabochon as a six-rayed, sometimes twelve-rayed star that appears to glide across the face of the gem as it is moved. This effect is called asterism and increases the rarity and value of the stone. The most famous Star Sapphire is the Star of India found around 300 years ago and is housed in the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. It is blue and flawless, the size of a golf ball with stars on both sides, and is a stone of great religious significance.

Star Sapphire has the same metaphysical properties as the color of Sapphire it appears in, with an enhanced energy and intensification of those properties. The star itself represents the manifestation of Divine knowledge and Light into denser reality, and reminds us that the outer manifestations we treasure are a reflection of the Light of our own essence. The three lines that cross in the six-rayed star represent faith, hope and destiny, sometimes associated with three angels who offer protection to those who wear Star Sapphire. The moving star brings ongoing safety to travelers and guides their way home.

Sapphire Uses and Purposes - Overview

Sapphire is exceptional for calming and focusing the mind, allowing the release of mental tension and unwanted thoughts. It encourages opening the mind to beauty and intuition, bringing lightness and joy as it restores balance within the body.

Use Blue Sapphire to stay on your spiritual path, and for assistance in matters of self discipline, whether routine daily tasks or actions requiring extreme focus. It helps during times of change to maintain clear vision of where it is you want to go and how to get there.

Sapphires are a symbol of integrity and are highly effective for the speedy and positive resolution of legal matters and issues concerning justice. Since Blue Sapphire was traditionally worn when treaties were signed, wear or carry even a small piece of it when signing contracts or payment negotiations, for yourself or on another’s behalf.

Blue Sapphire is effective for channeling healing powers from an angelic or higher source into the healer, and is popular with Reiki healers. Sapphire also amplifies healing through the voice.

Blue Sapphire is a stone of love, commitment and fidelity, and has become popular in betrothal rings. Matching Sapphire tumblestones make a good gift for couples moving in together or marrying.  In the event of a separation or divorce, it is advisable to remove any Sapphire jewelry gifted by the other person. Sapphires are stones of attachment and could prolong the connection or cause bitter feelings.

As a professional support stone, Sapphire provides awareness of higher principles in archeologists and historians, stimulates the mind and wisdom in executives, ministers and writers, and increases discernment and good judgment in journalists and lawyers.

Star Sapphire, especially in paler shades, is a symbol of wise and honest leadership, and a good stone for businesswomen and female entrepreneurs who wish to succeed without compromising integrity. It is also an ideal tool for anyone needing assistance in grounding their ideas into reality and who requires extra energy to bring things through to completion.

Because of its hardness (second only to Diamond), Sapphires are used in industrial applications such as components for watch crystals and movement bearings, scientific instruments, high-durability windows, and insulating substrates in special purpose solid state electronics.

Sapphire Healing Therapies - Overview

(Please note: Information on this web site is no substitute for consulting a health care professional. All information contained on this web site, including information relating to medical and health conditions, products and treatments, is for informational purposes only. Please see your doctor or health care professional before starting any alternative treatments, diets, supplements or exercise programs.)

Sapphire Physical Healing Energy

Blue Sapphire assists in healing all parts of the body and soothes insomnia. Used externally or as an elixir, Sapphire water is considered a good purifier and should be used as the seasons change.

Long used as a curative for eye infections and improving eyesight, Blue Sapphire is also used to relieve headaches, fever, nosebleeds, and issues of the ears, including hearing, infection, inner-ear imbalances and vertigo.

Blue Sapphire is beneficial to the thyroid, swollen glands and in treating problems related to speech and communication. It is also considered helpful to the nervous system, and in treating blood disorders, dementia, and degenerative diseases.

Sapphire Emotional Healing Energy

Sapphire frees us from our “inner prisons” and psychic suffering that can cause us to shut down emotionally. It can be an effective aid in treatments for neuroses or even psychosis. Sapphire releases depression and lightens the mood. It brings calm and focus to the mind, and restores balance within the body.

Blue Sapphire assists those who are easily swayed by the opinions of others. It promotes a fuller understanding of the self, and assists one in becoming more secure in their own opinions and knowledge, and in expressing those truths to others.

Star Sapphires of any hue are excellent healing crystals for those with an inferiority complex, are afraid of socializing or speaking out, or who have been told they were useless. They also lend support in following a childhood dream or ambition that seems almost impossible.

Sapphire Chakra Healing and Balancing Energy

The strong Blue Rays of Sapphire are ideal for awakening and utilizing the Throat and Third Eye Chakras. Working in unison, these chakras not only have the capacity of inner vision, but the focus and ability to communicate one’s vision to others in an effective way.

Blue Sapphire stimulates the Throat Chakra, the voice of the body. It is, in essence, a pressure valve that allows the energy from the other chakras to be expressed. If it is blocked, or out of balance, it can affect the health of the other chakras. When the Throat Chakra is in balance and open, it allows for the expression of what we think and what we feel. We can communicate our ideas, beliefs, and emotions, bringing our personal truth out into the world. We have an easy flow of energy within the body and spirit. The energy that springs upward from the lower chakras can continue its path enabling free expression and natural release. Blue crystal energy will unblock and balance the Throat Chakra. Darker shades of blue encourage the power of truth, while lighter shades carry the power of flexibility, relaxation, and balance.

Dark Blue or Indigo Sapphire stimulates the Brow Chakra, also called the Third Eye. It is the center of our perception and command, and directs our sight and everyday awareness of the world. Our consciousness is located here, and we relate to ourselves through this chakra. When the brow chakra is in balance our thoughts and internal communications within ourselves are healthy and vibrant. We are open to new ideas, dreams, and visions, and can control the flow of energy within all the chakras. Dark blue and indigo crystals are used to treat imbalances of the brow chakra. It is a quiet color, one of mystery and wisdom and judgment.

Sapphire Spiritual Energy

Sapphire is a stone of spiritual power and astuteness, bringing prosperity and helping to sustain the gifts of life. It tends to focus, emanate and radiate its energy in fulfilling dreams and desires of the consciousness, even without conscious initiation.

Blue Sapphire is a Wind element stone activating the higher mind. It opens awareness and communication with the higher planes, and stimulates psychic visions, extrasensory perception and one’s inner sense of knowing. It engenders strength of mind and increased learning ability, and may be used for wisdom in negative situations. It also allows one to act as a conduit in channeling received information. [Ahsain, 340][Simmons, 339]

Blue Sapphire is an excellent stone for use in alternate or past-life therapy, helping one remember other lifetimes and the lessons they provided. It can also be used to enhance hypnosis and trance states, and in shamanic ceremonies to transmute negative energies.

Sapphire Color Energy

Blue Sapphire reflects the color energy of the sky, as winter gives way to spring and the sun climbs higher each day. It marks the beginning of life and emotion. Blue crystals bring trust, faith, patience, and respect, lending the focus we need to become more sincere, act more responsibly, and become more trustworthy. Light blue crystals help us accept the life we have, develop patience, reconcile differences, or seek forgiveness. They’re excellent for recovery efforts from addictions or destructive patterns, aid in curbing tempers, and help us become more dependable and cheerful. Light blue crystals also assist in dealing with grief, letting go of the past, and curing guilt. Darker blue talismans enhance the respect and compassion we have within ourselves. They teach us humanity, discretion, and honor, and encourage us to act more charitably and focus our efforts on service to others.

Indigo Sapphire combines the intuition of the violet ray with the trust of the pure blue ray. It brings wisdom, truth, dignity and spiritual mastery. A stone of judgment and long life, it promotes introspection and can result in profound wisdom when used well. Dark indigo crystals provide honesty and are especially good for religious and spiritual journeys, while light indigo crystals connect us to the natural world and improve our appreciation of others.

Meditation with Sapphire

Blue Sapphire helps activate the unconscious level of the mind and stimulate a dream state. It can be used for astral travel, lucid-dream work, or for reaching higher realms of consciousness during meditation.

Birthstones

There are several ways to find an appropriate birthstone. The traditional one is listed first. These are from the popular lists that most people are familiar with. The second way is to find your natural birthstone by the color wheel of life. You can click on the Natural Birthstone graphic below to learn more. Finally many people use the traditional stones of the Zodiac.

In this section you will find information on all three approaches.

Sapphire Traditional Birthstone

Sapphire is the traditional birthstone of September. Historically, it was the birthstone of April.

Sapphire Natural Birthstone.

Sapphire which is blue in color is one of the natural birthstones of those born as the world awaits the vernal equinox and spring (February 19 - March 19). This is a time when new life is about to burst forth, a time of faith and trust. Blue crystals bring you patience and respect.

Sapphire which is indigo in color is one of the natural birthstones of those born in midwinter (January 20 - February 18). Indigo crystals are rare and valuable. They bring you wisdom, truth, dignity, and spiritual mastery.

Sapphire - Zodiac Stone of Taurus

Sapphire is a zodiac stone for those born in the heart of spring under the sign of Taurus, from April 20 - May 20. Taurus is depicted as a bull because of its characteristics of being strong but quiet, and is ruled by the planet Venus that also rules Libra. Taureans are known for being "down to Earth," the doers and the realists. They are affectionate, known for their tempers and very stubborn.

Sapphire Amulets and Talismans

Sapphire was a talisman of kings and other nobility as a powerful defense from harm, envy, and to attract Divine favor. It was also worn to sharpen the intellect and for protection against the bites of venomous animals.

The Hindus wore Sapphire as a talisman to procure the favor of the planet Saturn, an unusual occurrence since, astrologically, Saturn’s influence was generally considered adverse. In the Hellenistic period, Sapphires were also routinely inscribed with the head of Jupiter (Zeus), the god of the sky.

Sapphire is a Seeker Transformer crystal. Seekers contain a crystal energy structure that aligns the natural energy of the crystal to the natural power of the human mind to find the way to new horizons and new capabilities. They’re pointers, directors, and compasses; the fresh start crystals. These are talismans of the scientist, the adventurer, the hunter, wanderer, and explorer. They’re also crystals of the student and the researcher.

Transformer crystals enhance efforts to change our situations, prospects, health, outlook or relationships. By transforming ourselves we transform our lives. We learn to dance, speak a new language, grow stronger, or become a better spouse or child. Seeker crystals with the earth power of the Transformer are excellent talismans to aid our efforts to grow, develop new capabilities and change our lives.

Sapphire Feng Shui

Blue Sapphire utilizes Water energy, the energy of stillness, quiet strength, and purification. It embodies potentialities unrealized. It is yielding, formless, yet powerful. The Water element brings power of regeneration and rebirth. It is the energy of the circle of life. Use blue crystals to enhance any space that you use for repose, calm reflection, or prayer. Water energy is traditionally associated with the North area of a home or room. It is associated with the Career and Life Path area, its flowing energy assuring a balance of energy as your life unfolds and flows.

Sapphire in Ancient Lore and Legend

Sapphires were praised for bringing Divine favor and were referenced in nearly every religious history. Called the jewel of the sun god Apollo by the Greeks, Sapphire was worn when consulting the oracle at Delphi to give the questioner wisdom to understand the answer given. To the Hebrews, Sapphire was a stone of prophecy, wisdom, and Divine Glory. The Law given to Moses on the Mount was said to be engraved on tablets of Sapphire, and it was listed as the fifth stone in the Breastplate of the High Priest inscribed with the tribe Issachar. In his visions, the prophet Ezekiel compared the throne of Jehovah to a Sapphire, and the seal-stone in King Solomon’s magical ring was thought to have been a Blue Sapphire, the symbol of wisdom. Abraham was said to have worn a magnificent Sapphire around his neck, and when he died it rose to the sun.

The ancient Persians thought the Earth was balanced on a giant Sapphire that was reflected in the color of the heavens. Buddhists believed Sapphire was calming and facilitated prayer, meditation, and spiritual enlightenment; and the Hindus considered Sapphire as one of the “great gems” used in the naoratna and panchratna jewels offered in the temples for worship and to combine all of the powerful astrological influences. In Christianity, St. John saw Sapphire as the second foundation stone of the New Jerusalem in his Revelations. It signified the height of celestial hope, and in some writings, was attributed to St. Andrew as a symbol of his heavenly faith. Another writer attributed Sapphire to St. Paul since he was caught up the third heaven where his soul is firmly fixed, and where he seeks to draw all who are obedient to him.

Considered to be a “holy” stone, Sapphire is believed to render its bearer “pacific, amiable, pious, and devout, confirming the soul in good works.” It is thought to prevent wicked and impure thoughts, and to refuse to shine for the unchaste, or the impure. St. Jerome wrote that the Sapphire procured favor with princes, pacified enemies, gave freedom from enchantment and captivity, and could ease the wrath of God himself.

Sapphires have long been regarded as especially appropriate for use in ecclesiastical rings, worn by priests and high dignitaries for symbols of chastity and to represent Heaven. When a new Cardinal is elected by the Pope in the Roman Catholic Church, he receives with much pomp and ceremony, a red hat, and along with his new title, a gold ring set with a Sapphire, placed on the ring finger of his right hand by the Pope himself. According to Gregory XV, this is done to signify the Church is now the Cardinal’s spouse and he must never abandon her.

Sapphire was also revered as a gem of royalty, worn by kings, queens and nobility as a powerful defense from harm and envy. It was reputed to protect the wearer from dishonesty, fraud, terror, poverty, and even stupidity and ill temper. It was well-touted as an enemy of poison, even to the point of declaring that if a Sapphire were put into a glass with a spider or venomous reptile it would kill it.

According to legend, Helen of Troy owned a large Sapphire which was believed to hold the key to her desirability. King Solomon’s magical ring inscribed on a Sapphire, known as the “Seal of Solomon,” was reported to give him the power to command demons and spirits, and to speak to animals. It was said he used the magic of Sapphires to seduce the Queen of Sheba. Charlemagne wore an enormous Sapphire amulet prominently to display his devotion to God. In Medieval times, Sapphire was used as a test for infidelity, thought to change color if worn by the unfaithful.

Medicinally, Sapphire was described as “cold, dry, and astringent,” taking the fire out of inflammations and drying up infections, especially of the eyes. Made into pastes or elixirs, it was used to anoint the eyelids for infections, and made into little balls the size of peas and polished, it was put into the eyes to take out dust, gnats, or anything that had fallen in. It was also thought to preserve the eyes from small pox and other diseases.

Ointments of Sapphire and milk were spread over sores and boils, and elixirs mixed with cordial water, vinegar or the juice of lemons, were considered good for all fluxes of the belly, dysentery, hemorrhoids, and other bleedings. It was also used for internal ulcers, to strengthen and refresh the heart, and to cure melancholy. A Sapphire stone laid to the forehead was thought to stop bleeding at the nose.

Because of its power to influence spirits, Sapphire was honored more than any other stone by necromancers in conferring with the dead to foretell the future. They felt it enabled them to hear and understand even the most obscure oracles. Witches were also reported to love this stone for working certain wonders by its virtue.

The image of an astrolabe, if carved upon a Sapphire, has the power to increase wealth and enables the wearer to predict the future. The figure of a ram or of a bearded man, upon a Sapphire, has the power to cure and preserve from many infirmities as well as to free from poison and from all demons. This is a royal image; it confers dignities and honors and exalts the wearer.

Sapphire symbolizes integrity, love, commitment and fidelity, and over the years has become popular in betrothal rings. It is traditionally given as gifts for a fifth and forty-fifth year wedding anniversary, and is considered a gem of autumn.

The Star Sapphire, also called Asteria, has often been referred to as a Stone of Great Destiny. Some cultures believed the three light bars which cross to form the six-rayed star on the surface of the gem represented Faith, Hope, and Destiny (or mission). The Cingalese believed the moving star served as a protection against witchcraft of all kinds, and in German lore it was called Siegstein, the stone of victory. The mere sight of the stone was reputed to bring good luck, and as a guiding gem, it warded off ill omen and the Evil Eye. It was said to be so potent it continued to exercise its good influence over the first wearer even after it had passed into other hands.

Historically, Blue Star Sapphire was given on a twenty-sixth wedding anniversary, Gray Star Sapphire was given on a sixty-fifth, and Purple Star Sapphire was given on a sixty-seventh wedding anniversary. Star Sapphire was also known in Oriental culture as a “phenomenal gem” to be worn on Tuesdays. Phenomenal gems exhibited a moving line, star, or changes on the surface as the light varied, and was considered to bring good fortune to the wearer.

Aventurine

Green Aventurine is known as the “Stone of Opportunity,” thought to be the luckiest of all crystals, especially in manifesting prosperity and wealth, or for increasing favor in competitions or games of chance. Its winning energy makes it a great ally for boosting one’s chances in any situation - a first date, tax audit, even landing a promotion. One needs only to be near it to derive its benefits.

This beautiful stone, however, is not merely an attractor of luck, but one that aligns conditions so “opportunity” is inevitable. Green Aventurine releases old patterns, habits and disappointments so new growth can take place. It brings optimism and a zest for life, allowing one to move forward with confidence and to embrace change. It enhances one’s creativity and motivation, and encourages perseverance in maneuvering life’s obstacles. It also reinforces one’s decisiveness and amplifies leadership qualities, injecting a sense of humor and openness to the ideas of others.

Aventurine is a variety of Quartz characterized by bright inclusions of Mica or other minerals that give a shimmering or glistening effect to the stone, referred to as aventurescence, especially notable when tumbled or polished. Its name is derived from the Italian a ventura or all’avventura, meaning “by chance,” and refers to the Italian glass from the 1700s, produced when a worker accidentally dropped metal filings into a vat of melting glass. Once cooled, the result was pleasing with its randomly spaced iridescent sparkles, and it was used to make jewelry and other items. The name Aventurine was later given to the natural stone which looked like the industrial product.

Aventurine is most commonly green, though it also forms in blue, red to reddish-brown, dusty purple, orange or peach, yellow, and silver gray. It is mostly translucent and often banded, but an overabundance of an included mineral may render it opaque. The color of Green

Aventurine comes from Fushite particles within the Quartz, while shades of red, brown and orange are attributed to Hematite or Goethite inclusions. Peach and yellow Aventurine include Pyrite with their Mica crystals, Blue Aventurine contains inclusions of Dumortierite, while the purple variety is colored by Lepidolite.

Aventurine is also referred to as Adventurine, Avanturine, Aventurine Quartz, and Indian Jade. It is used not only in various forms for metaphysical purposes, but in jewelry, vases, bowls and figurines, as well as a number of applications such as landscaping stone, building stone, aquaria, and monuments.

Green Aventurine Uses and Purposes

Green Aventurine carries a strong connection to Earth and the devic kingdom, providing a better understanding and appreciation of nature and its soothing vibrations upon the mind and body. It is an excellent stone for gridding houses or gardens against geopathic stress.

Wearing Aventurine also absorbs electromagnetic smog and guards against environmental pollution. Taped to a cell phone, it protects against its emanations.

Green Aventurine energetically stimulates the physical growth of premature infants, young children and teenagers. It increases overall vitality and enhances the intellectual development of children struggling with schoolwork and destructive hyperactivity. It assists adults with written work, typing and computer skills, and is beneficial to all in overcoming clumsiness.

Aventurine may be made into an elixir to drink or used in ablutions by soaking a stone fragment in demineralized water overnight (we recommend the indirect method). It is highly beneficial for fighting eczema, rosacea, juvenile acne, and other skin problems.

Aventurine is ideal for soothing quick-tempers or brutal temperaments, and can greatly diminish the effects of domestic strife between spouses.

For those looking for love in their mature years, Green Aventurine may be used as a love crystal or added to a Heart Chakra layout as it encourages love later in life.

Green Aventurine Physical Healing Energy

Green Aventurine is particularly supportive of the heart, and is excellent for those with cardiac conditions, circulatory problems, or recovering from surgery or illness. It stimulates life-giving energy throughout the body and engenders activity and movement while assisting in physical regeneration,It may give an added boost in efforts to lower cholesterol and in preventing arteriosclerosis and heart attack.

Green Aventurine is also thought to benefit fertility and genito-urinary problems; eyesight, especially far-sightedness and astigmatism; dyslexia, dypraxia, and cerebral palsy. It assists in healing the adrenals, lungs, thymus gland and the nervous system.

Green Aventurine increases the power of homeopathic remedies. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, easing skin eruptions, such as acne, eczema, and rosacea, and soothes allergies and migraine headaches.

Green Aventurine Emotional Healing Energy

Green Aventurine’s soothing energy balances the emotional body, guiding one toward inner harmony. It calms nervousness, anger and irritation, and helps dissolve the everyday stress of a hectic lifestyle. It quiets roving thoughts and enhances sleep while providing a gentle grounding effect on one’s vibrational field. It releases the notion that every event must be analyzed.

Green Aventurine also soothes emotional wounds, allowing one to recognize the issues behind illness or imbalance, depression or defeat, and to facilitate the release of unhealthy relationships, patterns and heartache. It encourages one to view hardships in life as impermanent, as an opportunity for growth in a new direction, and for taking all things in stride. It inspires a feeling of lightness, even humor, which can then stimulate a renewed sense of optimism, joy and hope. It is a reaffirming stone, especially during times of change or upheaval and can be the emotional anchor one needs to remain stable and firmly grounded.

Green Aventurine Chakra Healing and Balancing Energy

Green Aventurine is a comforter and heart healer, used to clear and activate the Heart Chakra for general well-being and emotional calm. It is also a powerful protector of the Heart Chakra, providing a shield to block entry from those who would “tap-in” and use the energy of another.

The Heart Chakra is located near the center of the breastbone and regulates our interaction with the external world, controlling what we embrace and what we resist. It gives us the balancing ability to be ourselves within the environment. When the Heart Chakra is out of balance we may feel either controlling or controlled in a relationship, and become critical of the little foibles of others. We may find ourselves having inappropriately strong emotional responses to everyday external stimuli. Green crystal energy is used to resolve blockages and to re-balance the Heart Chakra, helping us understand our own needs and emotions clearly.  We can deal with the ebbs and flows of emotional relationships, understand their cyclic nature, and accept the changes.

Aventurine has been used in rituals of the medicine wheel to show the spirit guides the connection with the healing light of the heart. In these ceremonies, Aventurine is held at the heart of each participant around the wheel, and it has been reported that during contact with the spirit guide the participants felt a “wash of love” fall around them.

Garnet

Garnet is found the world over, and though commonly known to be red, it is in fact found in a variety of colors and chemical formulas, each with its own set of spiritual properties.  Legends and folklore place garnet among the most ancient of talismans. Not only was it prized as an ornamental jewel, but its strong curative powers and protective energies made it invaluable.

Garnet is also known for its utilization of creative energy. It grounds spirit forces within the body and helps in the ability to work lovingly on the physical plane. Yet Garnet is a sensual stone. It represents primordial fire, the creation of the world out of chaos, purification and love. It is a stone of strong, intense feelings.

The distinctive title Garnet is derived from the Latin name Granatum, a pomegranate, because of the resemblance the granular varieties of Garnet bears to the seeds of that fruit. Garnets vary in size from a grain of sand to the size of an apple. According to the Roman historian Pliny, the large dull-colored "Carbunculus of India" (a variety of Garnet) used to be hollowed out into vessels which would hold as much as a pint.

Garnets were used in the former Czechoslovakia as far back as the Bronze Age, and in Egypt more than five thousand years ago. They were used in Sumeria around 2100 B.C. and in Sweden between 1000 and 2000 B.C. They were also popular in ancient Greek and Roman civilizations. According to the Talmud, the only light on Noah's ark was provided by a large Garnet. In Europe during the Middle Ages, Garnet was used to enhance truth, faith and constancy, and to dispel melancholy. As a Warrior's Stone, Garnet served as a talisman in the Crusades for both the Christians and their Muslim enemies.

Garnet is said to have been one of the twelve stones in the Breastplate of the High Priest, and has been used as a sacred stone by the Native American Indians, the South American Indians, the Aztecs, the African tribal elders, and the Mayans. It acts with speed to expand one's awareness due to the flash of lightening contained within, and enhances one's internal fire to bring creative powers to implementation.

Garnets whose color suggested that of blood, were not only believed to confer invulnerability from wounds, but some Asiatic tribes launched garnets from their sling bows, and later as bullets, the principle being the blood-colored stone would inflict a more deadly wound than a leaden bullet. Such were used by the rebellious Hanzas, in 1892, during their hostilities with the British troops on the Kashmir frontier, and many of these precious missiles were preserved as curiosities.

Today, Garnet is not only worn ornamentally as a beautiful gem, but is used widely in industrial markets, from watch gears and scientific instruments to sandpaper and abrasives.

Garnets were employed as inlaid stones in Celtic and Anglo-Saxon jewelry.  Garnets the color of fire were also called Carbuncles (from fire-coals), and the Hebrew name for the carbuncle was Bareketh (flashing stone) or Barak (lightning). It was a stone in the breastplate of the High Priest.

Eastern legends assert that a carbuncle was suspended by Noah, in the Ark, to diffuse light. The Greeks called the carbuncle the Lamp Stone and it was said, if hung around the neck, to give the power of seeing in the dark.

Greek mythology speaks of Garnet as a stone that can, through divine influence, heal emotional rifts between lovers.

The Merovingians brought garnets from faraway Ceylon (Sri Lanka) through the Silk Road, combining it with amber from the Baltic to create magnificent jewels. Since these two stones balanced each other, one warm, one cold, some see the source of the Frankish civilization in this combination, the amber tempering the warrior-like fieriness of the Germanic people.

Low libido and sexual disorders were credited to be relieved by the application of Garnet directly to the genital organs. Some Asiatic tribes used red garnets as bullets for sling bows because they pierced their victims quickly and were well hidden when they mingled with the blood. At other times they were placed in wounds to encourage clotting of the blood. [Mella, 85] The tribes continued to use them later as bullets in firearms, assuming the blood-colored stone would inflict a more deadly wound than a leaden bullet. Such were used by the rebellious Hanzas, in 1892, during their hostilities with the British troops on the Kashmir frontier, and many of these precious missiles were preserved as curiosities.

The gold ray produced in high quality Citrine, especially in faceted form, also stimulates the Crown Chakra, and can be used to channel pure Crown energy back to the Solar Plexus and Navel, allowing for synthesis between the intellect and the body's total perfection. It increases clarity of thought, mental focus, and protects and directs the use of the creative Life Force in one's life.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is the energy distribution center and the chakra of relationships. This chakra is located between the rib cage and navel, and controls the immune and digestive systems. When in balance, you have strength to fight infections, are free of allergic reactions, and are able to use the nutrients you ingest. It also allows you the freedom to interpret the world through your own thoughts and emotions and not live in fear of violating the dictums of others.

The Navel, or Sacral Chakra, is located below the naval and above the pubic bone at the front of the pelvis. It controls the flow of energy and is the center of gravity of the body. It is the center of the Life Force, and controls the flow of information from the body to the mind and from the mind to the body. Gut feelings, intuition, and other "non-linear" communication comes from this chakra. When it is in balance you have grace, feel pleasure in life, find you are flexible and can "go with the flow" and do so in good spirit.

The Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head, and is our gateway to the expanded universe beyond our bodies. It controls how we think, and how we respond to the world around us. It is the fountainhead of our beliefs and the source of our spirituality. When the Crown is in balance, our energies are in balance. We know our place in the universe and see things as they are. We are unruffled by setbacks, knowing they are an essential part of life.

Citrine Spiritual Energy

Natural Citrine is an excellent crystal for those who are overly sensitive and extremely vulnerable to outside energies and influences. Worn, carried, or used in crystal healing, the radiant yellow color will increase the amount of light surrounding the body and protect the aura. It is also a good talisman to have in situations where one needs to feel confident and secure.

High quality Citrine reflects the golden ray so clearly it beams positive sunlight energy directly into one's environment. In single generator form, Citrine crystals can be set in gold and worn with the termination point facing downward, channeling the crown energy into the body.

Citrine Cathedral Quartz is particularly useful to those who have experienced emotional or physical lack, especially ingrained poverty consciousness over several lives. The crystal returns to the problem's core and corrects the underlying belief, replacing it with a positive outlook, and allowing for spiritual and physical abundance to carry forward.

Citrine Color Energy

Yellow Citrine brings the power to solidify new interests and new relationships, helping you to see things in a different light. It adds clarity, waking things up and adding zest, optimism, and meaning to your life and relationships. Light Yellow crystals ensure that new relationships get off to a good start by aiding in the establishment of good communication. They help you focus on the needs of the person or group you are getting to know. Dark Yellow Citrine is an excellent aid when decisiveness, precision, or persuasiveness is needed.

Gold Citrine brings success, enthusiasm, happiness, and power. It is traditionally the color of kings, riches, and the sun. Gold touches a deep part of our minds, conjuring up images of mystical places and adventure. Light Gold crystals provide us with the simple pleasures of life - cheerfulness and contentment. Dark Gold crystals have a deeper, more pronounced sense of devotion and commitment, providing us with a mature enthusiasm and ability to share a lifelong commitment of care and love.

Meditation with Citrine

Citrine is useful in meditation to open the doors to inner thought. It allows the flow of the Universal Life Force and promotes an easy transition into the meditative state. It activates the thinking processes, and brings images forward from the deep mind.

When meditating with Citrine, one feels a glowing warmth from within and from without. Its sole purpose is to manifest the golden Light Force onto the physical plane.

As a yellow stone, it would have been prescribed for the cure of bilious disorders, for jaundice in all its forms and for other diseases of the liver.

Jade

Jade is said to bless whatever it touches, serving mankind across the globe for nearly 6,000 years. For primitive peoples in the British Isles, its toughness, and ability to polish and sharpen made it a favored stone for axe heads, knives and weapons. Indigenous tribes of Mexico, Central and South America, and New Zealand carved it into deity masks and ritual artifacts, even cast it into wells as an offering to the water spirits for fresh and plentiful water. Jade has been the most highly esteemed stone in China throughout recorded history, and was valued for its beauty and powers of healing and protection. An endless variety of gems, vessels, incense burners, beads, burial items and statues have been wondrously carved from Jade, as well as musical instruments and pendants inscribed with poetry.

Jade is most valued for its metaphysical properties. It is the ultimate "Dream Stone," revered in ancient cultures, as well as today, to access the spiritual world, gain insight into ritualistic knowledge, encourage creativity, and dream-solve.It is cherished as a protective talisman, assuring long life and a peaceful death, and is considered a powerful healing stone. An amulet of good luck and friendship, Jade signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility, dispelling the negative and encouraging one to see oneself as they really are.

In scientific terms, Jade is the name shared by two distinctly different minerals - Nephrite, a calcium magnesium silicate, and Jadeite, a sodium aluminum silicate. Though they have different compositions, hardnesses, densities and crystal structures, both are exceptionally tough stones, similar in appearance, and equally valuable in metaphysical properties. Both occur in the beautiful olive shades we've come to recognize as jade green, but have some distinctions.

Nephrite generally occurs in creamy white, mid- to deep olive green, brown and black. It has a smooth surface polish with a waxy sheen and is more commonly found. Jadeite may be a white-gray green, leafy green, blue or blue-green, emerald green, lavender, pink, red, orange, greenish-black or black. It is hard and lustrous, rarer than Nephrite, and usually more expensive. Translucent, emerald green Jadeite, colored by traces of chromium, is called Imperial Jade and is the rarest and most valuable.

The name and character of Jade is associated with many cultures, all referring to its reputed medicinal property of curing calculus stones and disorders of the kidneys or bladder. Yu-Stone to the ancient Chinese, it was called "spleen-stone" by the Mesoamericans. Nephrite is from the Greek word nephros, the kidney. The Spanish named it Piedra de hijada when they conquered the New World (lapis nephrictus in Latin), meaning "Stone of the loin," or "Stone of the flank." In a later French translation, the term was misprinted and became "pierre le jade."

For metaphysical purposes discussed in this article, and related pages, Nephrite and Jadeite will both be referred to as Jade.

This page will deal primarily with the overall properties of Jade, and attributes specific to Green Jade.

Jade Chakra Healing and Balancing Energy

Green Jade balances and harmonizes the Heart Chakra, aiding in both emotional and physical well-being.

The Heart Chakra is located near the center of the breastbone. It regulates our interaction with the external world and controls what we embrace and what we resist. It gives us the balancing ability to be ourselves within the environment. When the heart chakra is out of balance you may feel either controlling or controlled in a relationship, and become critical of the little foibles of others. You may well find yourself having inappropriately strong emotional responses to everyday external stimuli. Green crystal energy is used to resolve blockages and to re-balance the heart chakra, helping us understand our own needs and emotions clearly.  We can deal with the ebbs and flows of emotional relationships, understand their cyclic nature, and accept the changes.

Jade Spiritual Energy

Jade in all forms has always represented nobility, not only of rank, but of ideals. The wearing of Jade assists in creating magic for the highest good and in protection from harmful or deceitful entities during spirit work.

Green Jade is an abundance stone, representing the flow of Divine energy into the reality of one's life. It brings harmony and happiness in business and family relationships, as well material abundance. It is a reminder to smell the flowers, touch the ones you love, and share your heart with others in affirmation of plenty.

Jade Color Energy

Green Jade is a "growth crystal" - a powerful conduit of the earth's Life Force of birth, development, and creation, and of the power of nature's constant renewal. It is a potent aid in nurturing, whether of fledgling family relationships or a new business venture. Green Jade is perfect for keeping a venture on course, a project on schedule, and life on track. Lighter Green crystals promote spiritual growth and renewed commitment to a higher purpose. Those of a darker hue are talismans of physical growth and strength, and safety in travel.

Olive Jade combines the green rays of growth with the yellow rays of pure sunshine, a time of development, strength and maturity. It enhances our receptiveness to new meanings and ideas, and lights the path to wisdom and understanding. It is a talisman of the search for knowledge and enlightenment. In lighter shades, Olive Jade provides the perseverance needed in our quest for understanding the natural universe, efforts that require deep concentration, determination, and endurance for mental challenges. In deeper tones, Olive Jade is a "Study Stone," aiding us in the long quest for a higher state of understanding or awareness. It is excellent for achieving goals that need deep constancy and long-term purpose - not wild, exuberant growth, but the slow, steady development and deep caring of a life's calling.

Meditation with Jade

Olive shades of Jade are particularly conducive to meditation. Prayer beads or a beaded necklace works well. Finger the beads, one by one, and for each recite a rhythmic slow four- or five-word phrase or mantra, such as "May all be at peace." Go around and around the beads until you are in a state of deep relaxation.

Jade Traditional Birthstone

Jade is not a traditional birthstone.

Jade Natural Birthstone.

Jade which is green in color is the natural birthstone of those fortunate enough to be born in the heart of spring (April 20 - May 20). Green crystals bring you renewal, success in new ventures, and good health.

Jade which is olive in color is one of the natural birthstones of those born in the magical month of awakening, as the greens of spring are giving way to the bright yellows of the approaching summer (May 21 - June 20). Olive crystals bring you awakening, exuberance, learning, and meaning.

Jade - Zodiac Stone of Taurus

Jade is the traditional zodiac stone for those born in the heart of spring under the sign of Taurus, from April 20 - May 20. Taurus is depicted as a bull because of its characteristics of being strong but quiet, and is ruled by the planet Venus that also rules Libra. Taureans are known for being "down to Earth," the doers and the realists. They are affectionate, known for their tempers and very stubborn.

Jade is also a traditional stone for those born under the sign Libra, between September 23 and October 22, the middle of the harvest. Libra is the only sign that is an inanimate object - a balance beam, referred to as The Balance. During this month the days and nights are equal length, and the Earth and Sun are in balance. Librans are very strong-willed, artistic, sensitive, and respectful. They are understanding and relate well to other people.

Jade Amulets and Talismans

The Chinese have always valued Jade for its talismanic properties. Jade amulets are still carried and given today for protection and to focus its powerful energies. One amulet representing two men is called "Two Brothers of Heavenly Love," and is often given to friends. A phoenix of Jade is a favorite of young girls and is bestowed upon them when they come of age. The figure of a man riding on a unicorn and holding castanets in his hand is given to newlyweds, signifying an heir will be born in due time. A child's amulet assuming a form approximating a padlock, attached to the neck, is supposed to bind the child to life and protect it from all danger and infantile diseases.

Jade amulets placed in the mouths of the dead were important to the cultures of the ancient Chinese, Egyptians, and aborigines of Mesoamerica, denoting rank of the deceased and providing protection in the afterlife.

Jade is a Guardian Harmonizer talisman. The Guardian talismans do not reveal their inner strength. These stones rarely, if ever, form transparent crystals. Rather, they hide their strength behind an opaque mask, obscuring the power they possess. In the physical world they are fantastic amulets for protecting your loved ones, your possessions, and your physical security. In the spiritual world, Guardian crystals serve to guard your beliefs against doubt, helping you keep true to your ideals and reinforcing your strength of character. The Guardian crystals can also protect your spirits during trying and difficult times.

Harmonizers, called the chain and band silicates, bind together in a long chain, distributing energy in a balanced, long-term way. They encourage efforts aimed at smoothing a path through difficulties, promoting harmonious relationships within a larger group, like family, and a peaceful acceptance of life's inherent situations. Jade's Guardian crystal structure, its Harmonizer earth power, and its green color ray provide a powerful combination for ensuring long-term mutual understanding and cooperation.

Jade Feng Shui

Jade utilizes Wood energy, the energy of growth, expansion, new beginnings, nourishment and health. It enhances vitality, brings abundance, and keeps us growing physically. Use green crystals to enhance any space used for eating, in the room of a small child, or in a place of your home where you are beginning a new project. Wood energy is traditionally associated with the East and Southeast areas of a home or room. It is associated with the Family and Health area, and the Prosperity and Abundance area.

Jade dragons, fish and frogs, as well as statues of Buddha are particularly good luck and prosperity stones. They symbolize the Chinese element of wood and springtime, and are often placed in the east of the home to bring new beginnings, gentle growth, health and opportunity

Jade in Ancient Lore and Legend In Asia, Jade is revered as a noble stone. In antiquity, its medicinal use was subject to strict laws and breaking a Jade object was immediately punishable by death. It was accorded solar qualities, accredited with yang energy, and was believed to be a panacea, the remedy for all diseases. The Chinese alchemist Ko-hung thought gold and Jade, placed in the nine openings of the deceased, would prevent the body from decaying, and placing pearls, said to contain yin energy, in the burial place would ensure rebirth and reincarnation.

The Incas and Aztecs used Jade knives to tear out the hearts of the human sacrifices they offered to make the rebirth of the sun and rain god possible. [Megemont, 98]

The medicinal virtues of Jade widely favored throughout the ancient Asian continent, was later introduced to Europe and the New World. In addition to its powers to heal the spleen and kidneys, Jade, when ground to a powder the size of rice grains, was believed to strengthen the lungs, heart, vocal chords, and to prolong life, especially if gold or silver were added to the powder. An elixir with equal parts of jade, rice, and dew-water were boiled down and strained to create a "divine liquor of jade," said to strengthen muscles and make them supple, harden bones, calm the mind, enrich the flesh, and to purify the blood. Whoever took this for an extended time ceased to suffer from heat or cold, and never felt hunger or thirst.

In the seventh century, the philosopher Khivan Ghung declared the contemplation of Jade revealed nine of the highest attainments of humanity: in its glossy smoothness, Benevolence; in its bright polish, Knowledge; in its unbending firmness, Righteousness; in its modest harmlessness, Virtuous action; in its rarity and spotlessness, Purity; in its imperishableness, Endurance; in the way it exposes its flaws, Ingenuousness; in retaining its beauty though passing from hand to hand, Moral conduct; and in being struck giving forth a note that floats sharply and distinctly to a distance, Music. He believed it was these qualities that made men esteem the Jade as most precious, and to regard it as a diviner of judgments, and as a charm of happy omen.

The yashpheh, or twelfth stone in the breastplate of the high priest, Aaron, was most likely Jade and was inscribed with the tribal name, Assher.

A piece of Jade carved in the form of a butterfly has special significance in China. The legend speaks of a youth in pursuit of a many-hued butterfly who made his way into the garden of a rich mandarin. Instead of being punished for the trespass, his visit led to his marriage with the mandarin's daughter. The figure of a butterfly is a symbol of successful love, and bridegrooms desire to present Jade butterflies to their fiancées.

At nuptial feasts in China, both bride and groom often drink from a Jade cup shaped in the form of a cock, derived from the legend of a beautiful white cock who saw its young mistress, who had often petted it, throw herself into a well in despair at the loss of her lover. The faithful fowl found death in the same way so as not to be separated from its mistress.

The use of Jade to produce musical sounds dates far back into Chinese annals. A series of oblong pieces of jade of varying thicknesses, when struck, produces different notes. The "stone chime" used in court and religious ceremonies is composed of 16 undecorated stones, while the "singers' chime" consists of 12 to 24 pieces carved into various shapes. Legends claim Confucius took solace in playing the "musical stone" when he was troubled from his unsuccessful attempts to reform the Chinese morals of his day.

A neck carving of Jade, called a hei-tiki, was of great importance to the Maoris tribes of New Zealand. The ornaments, rude and grotesque representations of the human face or form represented a departed ancestor, and was said to give something of his being to the next wearer. When a head of the family died, his hei-tiki was buried with him, but exhumed after a time by the nearest male relative. If no representative remained, it was allowed to remain in the grave. So rare was this Jade, that a tohunga, or wizard, was necessary to learn where it could be found. After arriving in the region where Jade was usually found, the tohunga would fall into a trance, and upon awakening, would lead the jade-seeker party to the piece of Jade that was then given the name of the man whose spirit had revealed its location.

Since Jade was considered a stone to inspire the mind to quick and precise decisions, ancient traders would hold it in the palm of the right hand while making business transactions. Ancient Greeks used the soothing and healing color for ailments of the eyes, placing a piece of Jade directly on the eyelids or in a cleansing eye solution. Others ground Jade into powder and used it as an antidote for snake and rodent bites, or as an elixir for stomach ailments.

Aqua Aura

Aqua Aura

Alternate Names & Spellings of Aqua Aura: Aqua Aura Quartz

Crystal Meanings, Metaphysical & Healing Properties  Lore of Aqua Aura

Keywords: Psychic, Truth

Though not created through a natural process, the synergy of the quartz and gold combine to bring about a new crystal of intense energy and power.

Aqua Aura can enhance communications of all kinds. It can help one both speak and see the truth. Because of bringing energies of truth in, this crystal is used to enhance speaking, whether in a small group or a larger public group. This also assists with growing and using self-expression in a calm and loving manner.

Aqua Aura is called both a success stone and an abundance stone. It is said to attract success to all who use or carry it, and help them understand that it is indeed success. Aqua Aura can bring prosperity, even possibly wealth.

Aqua Aura is an outstanding tool for people wishing               to increase their psychic skills and awareness. Aqua Aura strengthens meditation which can enhance any psychic endeavors. Aqua Aura is used to empower and enhance telepathy, clairaudience, clairvoyance, psychic healing, and automatic writing as well as other modalities. In part this psychic empowerment is due to bringing more intense energy to the effort.

The strength of Aqua Aura is also excellent protection from psychic attacks.   It helps strengthen and heal the auric field which is a first line against negative psychic energy. It can protect against psychic "vampires", and other parasitic or draining negative energies.

Aqua Aura is said to assist in conscious awareness of one's own motivations and patterns.   As humans we tend to spend a great deal of emotional energy closing our eyes to our own truths. Ceasing to expend this energy brings a calm sense of clarity about these motivations and patterns. This enables us to improve these for our highest good.

Aqua Aura is used by crystal healers and others to calm the emotions and the emotional body. It is a powerful stress reliever. It is also a strong energy for reducing or eliminating anger. It is said to help process emotional disturbances, grief, and traumas to a point where they are no longer stressful.

Aqua Aura is said to ease the transition of death process by bringing calm and a sure inner knowledge of universal truths. This easing can be brought about by placing an Aqua Aura crystal or cluster on or near the person approaching this transition or by using it in a meditative prayer for that person's best and highest good.

Physically Aqua Aura is reputed to help with throat problems, stress-related physical or mental illness,   depression and anxiety disorders, thymus bland, vertigo,  immune system issues. Aqua Aura is particularly helpful for distance spiritual energy healing because of its ability to send energy. It is also said to be outstanding at activating and energizing other stones for healing, making it especially good for crystal layout or grid healing.

Aqua Aura, as with all types and varities of  quartz also has the basic properties of quartz. in addition to their own specific properties., and those of the gold it is synergized with.

Aqua Aura is related primarily to the throat and third eye chakras.

More on Aqua Aura from my personal perspective.

Some people feel that since Aqua Aura is created through a man-made, unnatural process, that it is a spiritually and metaphysically dead stone. Not to beat a dead horse, but I have always believed, and seen nothing to the contrary to date, that all things have energy that reaches into the physical, spiritual and other planes. This is how we exist. I have always found Aqua Aura to be a delightful, powerful crystal to work with.

Hardness (Mohs):  7
Color(s):  bright peacock blue often with iridescence
Transparency:  transparent, translucent
Lustre: vitreous
Common / Notable Locations:  USA (Created from quartz crystals from around the world)

Rock Lore & Tidbits: Aqua aura is quartz that is gold infused. It is created by by heating quartz crystals to over 1500F in a vacuum equal to 2 earth atmospheres. Once the right heat and vacuum is attained, chemically purified gold vapors are let into the chamber with the crystals This bonds the gold to the lattice of the crystal, forming a permanent bond to the surface of the quartz, giving it an electric blue color. Sometimes carved or cabachons of quartz crystal are infused with gold to become aqua aura, but the most common forms are points and clusters. Often natural points and clusters show internal fractures due to the high heat and pressure in their birth as Aqua Aura. This in no way lessens the beauty or the energy of the crystals, and often shows rainbows inside.

The name of the stone gives you a clue to what one of its most potent effects is. This green stone is said to be one of the safest stones to aid you... if you want to activate the Kundalini.
