Physical happenings

I wondered whether members would like to post any unexplained experiences they have had, objective physical phenomena, not within the laws of physics, which anyone could see or hear. To give some examples, hearing footsteps, raps, or knocking, or music, which could not have happened normally. Or objects moving as you watched, or over a period of time, or disappearing, or arriving from nowhere. I have personally witnessed table tilting in circle with all hands off it, but nothing really around the house, while I know others who have.

Thought I would pop this idea in here.
Hope it is ok.
I have a friend who is very interested in Physical Mediumship but can't find many sites on the subject.
Would any of you be interested in this topic?
Like maybe starting a forum on it?
His name is Norman and he's an old age pensoner like me.
he has written books on the subject so is quite knowledgeable on PM.

God did NOT create the Universe, says Stephen Hawking

Professor Stephen Hawking believes the laws of physics were behind the creation of the universe, not God

The universe was not created by God, scientist Stephen Hawking has said in his new book.

Professor Hawking believes the laws of physics were behind the Big Bang instead, in a challenge to traditional religious beliefs.

In The Grand Design, extracts of which were printed today, Prof Hawking concludes: 'Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing.

'Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist.

'It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going.'

The book, co-written by American physicist Leonard Mlodinow and published on September 9, sets out to contest Sir Isaac Newton's belief that the universe must have been designed by God as it could not have created out of chaos.

He cites the 1992 discovery of a planet orbiting a star other than our Sun.

'That makes the coincidences of our planetary conditions - the single Sun, the lucky combination of Earth-Sun distance and solar mass - far less remarkable, and far less compelling as evidence that the Earth was carefully designed just to please us human beings.'

Prof Hawking had previously appeared to accept the role of God in the creation of the universe, writing in A Brief History Of Time in 1988: 'If we discover a complete theory, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason - for then we should know the mind of God.'

An image from Hubble that shows the heart of the Milky Way taken in near infra-red light. Prof Hawking says that our existence is the result of physics, not a Supreme Being

He also leaves open the possibility of life on other planets and entire new universes - the so-called 'multiverse'.
HAWKING ON GOD

A Brief History of Time, 1988: If we discover a complete theory, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason - for then we should know the mind of God.'

The Grand Design, 2010: It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going

theoretical; physics known as M-theory, a form of string theory, could be the 'holy grail' that will explain everything in the known universe.

Physicists have long sought after a universal theory that unites quantum theory, matter at the sub-atomic level, with gravity which explains how objects interact.

He says: 'M-theory is the unified theory Einstein was hoping to find. The fact that we human beings - who are ourselves mere collections of fundamental particles of nature - have been able to come this close to an understanding of the laws governing us and our universe is a triumph'.

Professor Hawking has been quite outspoken in recent months over a number of issues.

In April documentary series, he argued that it is 'perfectly rational' to assume intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe.

And in an extraordinary series of assertions, he said Earth might be at risk from what he imagines to be 'massive ships' which could try to colonise our planet and plunder our resources.

Michelangelo's the Creation of Adam from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Prof Hawking says that we do not need God to explain our being

Professor Hawking said: 'We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet.

'I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet.

'Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach.'

It would be 'too risky' to attempt to make contact with alien races, he concluded.

'If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.'

And last month Professor Hawking has warned that unless the human race colonises space within two centuries it will disappear forever.

He said that our only chance for long-term survival is to move away from Earth and begin to inhabit far-flung planets.

In an interview with the website Big Think, Professor Hawking said he was an optimist but the next few hundred years had to be negotiated carefully if humans were to survive.

Found out about this amazing man who was born without arms and legs. As a boy Nick Vujicic was so depressed about his disability that he tried to kill himself. But the thought of his family kept him going. Eventually he found God and after deciding to make the most of his life became an extremely successful inspirational speaker. After hearing him or about his story thousands of people world wide have had their lives changed for the better. For some people Nick Vujicics story stopped them from commiting suicide, for others he stopped them from giving in. He shows that everything is possible and life really is what you make it.

This man has blown me away. Please watch the following YouTube clip.

I have for the last few months, had some very interesting dreams.. but I just can't remember them when I wake up.
I remember dreaming.. but can't recall any details - just tiny tiny flashes here and there and the feeling that they were complex.
As quick as I awake and try to recall it.... it floats away.... so any ideas would be great.?? :D :D

The Pineal Connection

User is offline

The pineal gland is about the size of a pea and is located behind and above the pituitary gland almost directly in the middle of the brain and makes melatonin. Melatonin regulates the body's rhythms, and perhaps the depression and tiredness some people feel during long periods of overcast skies and short days during the winter months is in response to an over production of melatonin (too complicated to go into here and I’m not sure I fully understand it. If you want to learn more about the pineal glad you can Google it). Other than the fact the pineal gland is effected by light and secretes melatonin, scientist and medical professionals really don't know what it's exact function is.

In the 2nd century, Galen was the first to mention the Third Eye to the West. He believed it to be a valve that regulated thought.

18th century French scientist and philosopher Rene Descartes believed it was the chief interpreter of vision and the seat of the human soul.

The development of psychic abilities has always been closely associated with the pineal gland and the link between the physical and spiritual worlds. Some people have called for more research because they don't think enough is being done in this area. But scientist may have already discovered the truth about the pineal gland and it's connection to spiritual and religious beliefs and they may be concerned about the effect this would have on religious and spiritual people the world over.

So what if they think it is all in our head. What are we going to do about this, change? Become overnight sceptics? I don't think so. If you were to ask any of these spiritual and religious people about this they would probably say what I'm about to say, and I'm closer to believing the scientists more than most of the people I know - that's what curiosity does to you; it gets you so you can't let go. You just need to know - I say okay I accept that but... There is more! There is a distinct connection with something beyond myself. And for all I know it could be what some people call collective consciousness or universal mind... Or God. We don't know, we just know that there is something beyond us and what we do spiritually and religiously. And I don't think our scientist have what it takes to research beyond that. That's why you (scientists) will never convince us that it is all in our head.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs

Not sure where to put this so i decided it was best in here.

I was reading up on maslows hierarchy of needs.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a theory based on your psychology and how you see yourself as a person, It takes the form of a pyramid in which you can measure your growth as a person, and your life to where you are in your life and is supposed to stimulate your ideas to take strides to further yourself as a person.

So it got me thinking, where i am on the pyramid. So i thought i would share this maslows theory on here...

I think this pyramid says a lot about a person, depending on your age i suppose, as i imagine to get to the very top of the pyramid, you would have to have lived a fair while. im nearly 50 and i dont see myself at the top of the pyramid (self actualization and being all you can be). Strange one mine as i look at the pyramid, i certainly have mastered the bottom two layers, but then i dabble with the yellow but then jump a step onto the green band, respect of others, confidence and achievement, and the need, in fact something ive always felt me to be, and thats a unique individual.

self actualization, meaning of my purpose in life, and all that malarkey as the top step, i feel like im years away from that, if ever i get there that is.
